Togg Salter

Togg Salter was an alien prospector from the planet Ammitus. He was married, with one child and used to work as a scientist. He received a Meritus Ecological award for saving green forest and had no criminal record according to the Optivisor.

On New Texas, Togg bought a lot of prospecting equipment, but couldn't find any Kerium. Soon his money ran out and he had to quit. Then his son became ill and Togg became really desperate. On his way to town, his Turbo-Mule was spooked by a Sand Eel and Togg had to be rescued by Marshal BraveStarr. They then happened upon one of Digger Knox's mines, where he had just struck a great amount of Kerium. Knox attempted to steal some of it for his own, and refused to explain himself. He tried to make a run for it, but caused the cave to collapse and dangerous Hysterium Gas to be released. BraveStarr arrested him and put him in Sonic Shackles.

When BraveStarr got himself hurt and was abducted by Bat Eagles, Togg asked for the Shackles to be removed so he could defend himself. Togg proved his worth by fighting off the creatures and helping to rescue the Marshal. He then came up with a plan to use a cactus pod and fire it out of an old volcano crater using the lava underneath. BraveStarr called upon the fire of Shaman's spirit so they could all escape inside a large pod. When the others learned about Togg's sick son, Digger proposed to Judge J.B. McBride and BraveStarr that Togg could work for him for a year, instead of going to jail. Doc Clayton took Togg home and promised to check out Salter's son and make him well again.

• Togg Salter was voiced by Pat Fraley in the episode Tunnel of Terror and by Erik Gunden in Tex but no Hex.
• When Judge J.B. selected Togg to be the fifth juror during the trial of Tex Hex, she mispronounced his first name as "Toog".

Appearances

• Episode 01: Tunnel of Terror - Togg Salter was on his way to town and having trouble with this Turbo-Mule when they were startled by a Sand Eel. The Mule sped off, dragging Togg with him as his foot was caught in his stirrup. Luckily for him, BraveStarr and Thirty/Thirty came to his rescue. They came upon Digger Knox, who had just struck a great amount of Kerium. Knox attempted to steal some of it for his own, and refused to explain himself. He tried to make a run for it, but caused the cave to collapse and dangerous Hysterium Gas to be released. BraveStarr arrested him and put him in Sonic Shackles. Togg helped rescue BraveStarr from Bat Eagles and came up with a way to escape from the volcano crater they found themselves in. He then revealed he had become desperate for money because his son was sick, and accepted to go to jail for his crime, but instead, was allowed to work for Digger at his mine for a year. Doc Clayton took Togg home and promised that he would get his son better again.

• Episode 07: No Drums, No Trumpets (Non speaking role) - Togg was the second was the first to exit Molly's Stratocoach after it's arrival in Fort Kerium.

• Episode 42: BraveStarr and the Three Suns (cameo) (none speaking role) - Togg was seen walking across the main street of Fort Kerium, twice.

• Episode 46: Tex but no Hex - Togg was selected as the fifth member of the jury in the trial of Tex Hex. He was surprised at the list of crimes that BraveStarr presented at the start of the case.
